Since 1995, Rich Pomerantz has been visiting Assateague Island, which straddles the MD/VA state line, to photograph the wild horses who live there.  These beautiful animals are the same ones made famous by Marguerite Henry’s popular children’s book Misty of Chincoteague and the annual Chincoteague Vol. Fire Department’s pony swim and auction.  Rich’s stunning images of these wild horses have graced the cover of National Geographic for Kids, the pages of Coastal Living and other magazines, the Sierra Club’s Wild Horses calendar, and the cover of Frommer’s Guide to Virginia.

 Rich Pomerantz creates striking, colorful, graphically composed visuals that stop the viewer and demand that they take a second look.
