“My profession is a
combination of sweat, care, ecstasy,
and acceptance,” Skitch once observed in a moment of
self-reflection. His personal interests, like his musical
tastes, are broad and varied — aviation, farming, cooking,
sports, vintage cars, and all things reflective of Americana,
from 19th-century metal banks to vintage farm machinery. His
zest for life is matched every step of the way by the energy and
ingenuity of his wife, Ruth. On stage as well as off, Skitch was
a man who loved what he did, and what he did touched all who
encountered him. This exhibit presents a unique look at Skitch
Henderson and his many passions.
