Housed in former stables and barn complete
with twin silos, the rustic complex is situated on Hunt Hill Farm, owned by Ruth and
Skitch Henderson, symphony conductor and founder-director of The New York Pops. A picturesque destination
year-round, Silo is surrounded by flowers and herbs in the spring and summer, by
spectacular foliage in the fall, and by snow-covered stone walls in the winter. People
drive for miles to see the 25-foot Christmas tree that towers over the gallery every
November and December.
Located off Route 202, in the Northville section of New Milford, Silo is less than
one-half hour from Litchfield, CT, with its historic homes, antique shops and well-known
White Flower Farm. Other nearby tour destinations include several vineyards, the museum
and Indian village at the American Institute of Indian Studies in Washington, CT, and
shopping in Woodbury, the antiques capital of Connecticut. Silo is about 80 miles
from both New York City and Hartford. |
